Four years is a long time to spend only in classrooms. This is where the rest of it happens, and how people find their way into it.

01

Where you will live

Seven boys' hostels and two girls' hostels sit inside the campus, so nothing is a commute. Messes are student-run, which means the food committee is people you can actually argue with. The canteen stays open through the night, which will matter more than you expect around week twelve.

02

Clubs and societies

The Student Activity Centre coordinates student bodies on campus, and its prime locations are the Students' Clubs, the Boys' and Girls' SAC and the Multipurpose Hall. Clubs recruit early in the first semester. Join two things, not six — the ones you stay with are the ones that end up mattering.

03

Fests and the calendar

Avishkar is the techno-managerial festival and Culrav the cultural one, both long-running. Udbhav covers the innovation and startup side, TEDxMNNIT brings speakers in, and Gnosomaia and the annual athletic meet fill out the year. Yoga and personality development classes run under the DSW office.

04

Prayagraj, briefly

The campus is in Teliarganj, north of the city centre. Prayagraj Junction is the main railway station and the one you will use for most trains home. The Sangam, Khusro Bagh and the Civil Lines side of town are the standard first-month outings. Winters are colder than most people pack for.

MNNIT Allahabad campus

The campus is small enough that you will keep running into the same people. That is the point.

Clubs & societies

Every club on campus, as the SAC lists them.

The Student Activity Centre runs these. Recruitment happens early in the first semester, and most clubs will take you with no prior experience.
